Having raised our four children, and practically completed our active life in the medical and aeronautical fields respectively, we wanted to take up a last challenge and return to earth.

In the years 2000, we had thought to take back a family domain located in the valley of the Rhone, and even if this was not possible, the envy was there.

The first visit of Piconin took place in April 2011, a day of heavy rain as there are sometimes in Provence at this time of year. After going round the field, we had the shoes so full of mud that we did not dare to enter the house. And yet, we said “we have found what we are looking for”.

At the end of 2011, we became owners of this 9-hectare estate in a beautiful setting at the foot of the Sainte-Victoire.

From the first days of 2012 we were confronted with the immensity of the task that awaited us:
– The vineyard, which consisted partly of old vines which are a blessing for the quality of the wine, but also a problem due to the many missing ones, had to be restructured;
– The transition to the organic cultivation method was for us an obvious, allowing cuvées that respect all the expressions of Provence;

The cellar was to be built, and there was urgency;
– It was necessary to totally redevelop the house and the offices of the domain;
– And finally find a name for the domain. It was Le Loup Bleu because of the emblem of the village of Puyloubier (podium luperium, the hill of the wolves), the magic of the blue hour (this particular moment which is no longer the day and not yet night For a few minutes, the sky is filled with a deep blue, alternately delicate and intense, which transcends the landscape), closely linked to a first passion, aviation.
