Behind the Massif des Maures, is an inner valley, (or center Var), particularly sheltered that must be discovered. The plain Puget-Ville, Cuers, Pierrefeu is the heart of it. This is where you will discover the “Château du Puget”, a wine estate dating back to the 17th century, a family estate inherited in 1972 by Madame Viès.
Today the Château du Puget is managed by Monique and Pierre Grimaud who strive to continue their careful work, to present high quality Côtes de Provence wines and to offer a warm welcome. The soils are clay-limestone, at the limit of the chain of the Moors, one can also find there sandstones. Although separated from the seaside by the Moors, the climate is Mediterranean.
The soil of Puget-Ville gives fresh and fruity Côtes de Provence rosé wines, very representative of the appellation and the dry and fruity Côtes de Provence white wines with citrus flavors. But it is particularly favorable to red wines, deep and tannic, which will arrive at the best of their evolution in three or four years.
The red wines Côtes de Provence “Château du Puget” have had several medals, highlighted by the flattering appreciation of the best sommeliers.
